NCIS boss promises serious romances in season 20
NCIS spoilers follow.
NCIS showrunner Steven D Binder has promised some serious romances in the police procedural’s upcoming 20th season.
The season 19 finale saw Special Agent Knight (Katrina Law) and Dr Jimmy Palmer (Brian Dietzen) share a kiss and, according to Binder, it seems like season 20 will see their relationship blossom differently from the way other romances have done on the show before.
While speaking with TVLine, Binder recalled Tony and Ziva’s uncertain relationship and Torres and Special Agent Ellie Bishop’s pairing, explaining that both couples were “just in denial”.

However, when it comes to Jess and Jimmy this season, Binder promises that their workplace relationship will be handled “more realistically”.
“This one is something that we birthed ourselves, in a vacuum,” he said. “We didn’t want to go down the same road we went down before. Instead, we wanted it to play out more realistically — two people at work, who actually having feelings towards each other, and they’re not being so coy about it.”
He continued: “There are hesitations that they’re going to have, based on their personalities per se, but there’s a lot to explore when you get down with a microscope and look at the minutia of how a relationship develops — the tentativeness, the awkwardness, how Jimmy’s been out of the game for a while, how you imagine Knight has been all over the game.

“We’re really trying to break it apart and explore the fun of each moment.”
That’s not the only romance we should expect either, as Binder has branded the 20th outing as “the season of love”, adding: “So we may see a bunch of things happening, with a bunch of our characters.” Interesting!
