NCIS season 20 won’t air next week as next episode delayed from usual time slot
The 20th season of NCIS has been going from strength to strength in 2023, resulting in CBS green-lighting a 21st season for later this year. The latest episode, titled Stranger in a Strange land, continued to grip viewers as Jimmy Palmer (played by Brian Dietzen) and Jessica Knight’s (Katrina Law) romance went up a gear and Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) revisited his past. However, fans will be waiting until next month to see what happens next.
With just under three weeks to go until NCIS returns, CBS is still yet to share a promo or synopsis for the upcoming instalment.
However, fans will be hoping for another episode which hits home just as much as Stranger in a Strange Land did.
In fact, the latest instalment held a special place in star Valderrama’s heart as he branded it a “special one” to be a part of.
Sharing a clip from the episode in which Torres details his own personal story to a refugee, he tweeted: “Tonight’s episode is a very special one..

“My love to all of our allies around the world, as someone who has travel the world visiting our men and women of our military..
“And gotten to know our friends who assist our forces in arms.. this one was very personal. #NCIS.”
The episode earned plaudits from a number of the NCIS fandom as well, with many rushing to the social media platform to echo Valderrama’s sentiment.
NCIS fan Dylan Slemp took to Twitter to praise: “That was a really good episode! #NCIS #StrangerInAStrangeLand.”
While Mark Ferguson tagged Valderrama directly and said: “This was an excellent storyline and so true to life.
“The hardship immigrants face today are daunting but they are persevering for their family’s future.”
Kim Vallejo followed suit as they told the actor: “That was an awesome episode.”
And @RocknRollPastor was left in tears by the episode, as they penned: “1st the heart to heart with Vance and Palmer…and then Torres with the black & white photo of his loved ones on his phone, pressed against his heart, had me in tears.
“You aren’t just colleagues, you’re family. #NCISRocks,” they added.
Chris Myers weighed in: “A good episode before the breather. #NCIS_CBS.” (sic)
NCIS isn’t the only series in the franchise to be heading on hiatus either as NCIS Hawaii season two also won’t be back on screens until April.
NCIS season 20 returns to CBS in the USA on Monday, April 10. Season 20 continues Wednesday on Disney+ in the UK.
